Hassan Jaffer is a Certified General Accountant and Insolvency and Restructuring Professional (CIRP) and recently retired as the Service Line Leader (Restructuring and Reorganization) of a major accounting firm in Canada, where he regularly provided advice to major financial institutions on their underperforming loan portfolios, as well as to financially challenged business enterprises. Hassan brings over three decades of hands-on business experience in the mid-market business arena in Canada, and has also worked on assignments in the U.S.A., the Caribbean, the U.K., the Middle East, India and Africa where he gained invaluable international business experience applicable in today’s global economy. His keen business sense and entrepreneurial nature enable him to quickly identify the root causes of business and financial difficulties and to develop creative solutions for all stakeholders. With his superior marketing, selling and negotiation skills, Hassan contributed significantly to the growth of his professional practice and consistently realized major successes for his clients.

Shaukat Moloo is a Chartered Professional Accountant with extensive experience in the public and not-for-profit sectors.   With an impressive 30+ career in the U.K. and Canada, he brings a wealth of experience in all facets of business and financial management.  A seasoned leader, Shaukat has worked in senior executive positions within the healthcare sector in Ontario and Alberta where he was responsible for delivering accessible, affordable, quality healthcare services to residents.  He devised and implemented governance, accountability, risk assessment, and performance measurement systems and negotiated multi-million dollar performance agreements with health service delivery agencies as part of healthcare transformation.   A skilled change manager, Shaukat’s experiences can be applied to assist businesses in promoting effective governance, transparency and accountability demanded by shareholders, donors and funding agencies.

Ibrahima Dia has extensive experience acquired through his 20-year career with a leading Canadian bank. Working through the banking system, he rose to become Senior Vice-President Risk Management and Head of Special Loans and Advisory Services of the Bank. As Vice-President Lending in the Risk Management department, Ibrahima managed the consumer products portfolio of a few billion dollars. He also served as Head of Commercial Banking for the province of Quebec. A fully bilingual seasoned banker with exceptional business acumen and an ability to identify business risks, Ibrahima can examine issues from a banker’s perspective and offer sustainable solutions. He has a Mechanical Engineering degree and an MBA both obtained in Canadian universities.

Savio Cardozo has a diverse background in Corporate Finance, Operations and Technology, with over 25 years of industry experience ranging from Stock Exchanges to Power Generation, both in North America and internationally in England, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. More recently he has specialized in Operating Profitability Transformation Engagements & Corporate Governance Initiatives, contributing to over $100 million in cost savings to his clients. He has both founded and participated in technology ventures ranging from Offshore Software Development to the Outsourcing of Mutual Fund and Retirement Plan Administration. He has a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Masters Degree in Business Administration, and has completed level 2 of the Chartered Financial Analyst Program.

 

Lyn_McDonell

Lyn McDonell consults and trains leaders of organizations in governance, strategy and organizational accountability. Lyn has served as the Chief Executive Officer and a Chief Operating Officer in two multi-level national organizations in Canada. Trained in mapping strategy to create a Balanced Scorecard, Lyn is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and has the Chartered Director professional designation in governance awarded through The Directors College, offered by McMaster University’s DeGroote School of Business and The Conference Board of Canada. She is also a Certified Management Consultant. Lyn has consulted with various organizations on strategic plans, corporate scorecards, board development and governance reviews, improving oversight and accountability, as well as meeting facilitation. Lyn’s passionate purpose is helping leaders deliver on their missions through facilitating strategic planning process, determining organizational accountability and scorecards, and helping align goals, roles, people and resources.

Eero Laakso
 is a successful entrepreneur, who has founded, grown and sold small businesses, and managed change in large organizations for rapid improvements in productivity and profitability. His responsibilities have included strategic planning, marketing, sales, engineering and operations in a variety of industries, including automotive, capital and consumer goods, tooling, coating and energy distribution, both in Canada and the U.S. Being an entrepreneur himself, Eero has first-hand experience of the challenges most small but growing companies have to deal with, especially given their limited resources. He can, therefore, easily relate to and quickly build rapport and trust with a business owner. Eero holds an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (Aalto University, Finland) and an M.B.A. (Queen’s University, Canada).
